Survivor: Eritrea – Allies vs. Adversaries is the twenty-first season of the second generation Suitman's Survivor Series, which began on January 11, 2015, and ended with a live reunion on February 7, 2015.

It ended with Patrick J. defeating Charlie B. and Shadi C. at the Final Tribal Council in a 3-2-2 vote. At the Reunion, Patrick won Fan Favorite. This was the first season not to feature the Player of the Season award due to it being discontinued.

Production

This season, the main idea behind Survivor: Friends vs. Favorites returned, with a new purpose. Five pairs of "adversaries" from past seasons returned, each selecting one person they regard as an "ally", who has never played before, to join them in the season. They are divided into two tribes with the Adversaries on the same tribe, and the Allies on opposite tribes. The two tribes of ten for this season are named after sub-regions of Eritrea. The tribes are Anseba, wearing red, and Maekel, in yellow. The tribe insignias were a flame tribal pattern for the Allies, and a flower tribal pattern for the Adversaries. On Day 9, the tribes merged into Gash-Barka, wearing green.

The ten returning players were hand picked by production in five unique pairs, based on their rivalries with one another in past seasons. The returning adversaries then selected an ally to participate alongside in the season. The cast and tribal designations were revealed in full on December 11, 2014.

Twists

• Allies vs. Adversaries: This season ten returning players were divided into pairs based on the fact they were "adversaries" in a past season. Each returning player has selected an "ally" from another group game, who is yet to participate in the Second Generation, to join them in this season.
• Flexible Idols: Now, hidden idols can be stolen from owners by other players, if they select the correct spot on a board where each owner has placed their found idol for safe-keeping. For the first time, when an idol has been found, it will be announced and a new idol brought in to be found.
• Returning Players: Ten former castaways returned this season, picked in pairs due to their rivalry with one another in a past season. The rival pairs are Game and Joe from Jordan, Andaib and Gerard from Brunei, Andrew and Mearl from Reclamation, Jacob S. and Shadi from Second Chances, and Ben and Charlie from Jan Mayen.
• Tribe Switch: On Day 7, the Anseba and Maekel tribes underwent a tribe switch, mixing up the tribes.
• Double Tribal Council: On Day 12, due to the One Day Tribes twist, two people were voted out of the game back-to-back following the Prized Position Challenge.
• One Day Tribes: On Day 12, the eight remaining castaways were divided back into two tribes, just for a Double Tribal Council that day, before reverting back to a normal merged tribe. Gerard picked one person to join him on his tribe. He chose Connor.
• Hidden Immunity Idols: Due to the Flexible Idols twist there were multiple hidden idols placed in each tribe camp, which can be found by correctly guessing the answer to the clues sent daily to the immune tribe.
