It's been one month since I notified you on the current changes here at the wiki, and in that month many things have changed. Here is a summary of what we have done and what is still ongoing.
- Whole Wiki: As with each new season of Suitman's Survivor, the wiki design is given a new fresh look that matches the season location or theme. For our latest season, Survivor: Kiribati, we have a casino theme which features a new roulette wheel background and playing card-style wallpaper. Furthermore, the general color palette has been given a red tinge which is also reflected on the headers of the season page infoboxes.
- Season Pages: All seasons have now been updated with the new season page style which includes the re-locating of the returning players section and new hover-over feature on the contestants list. Further new additions include the season title in the inbox now being in the font-style of that season , and the removal of the opening sequence to clear space. It will now be featured on it's own page soon.
- Tribe Pages: The new inbox style first introduced to the season pages is now being spread wiki-wide, with particular focus on the tribe pages. Over the coming weeks we will be turning all the pages to the new style, but continuing the theme of having the infobox the same color as the tribe. The tribe name will also be in the season font, like on the season pages.
- Episode Pages: One of our grounds of new content is focused to the episode pages which, as well as having updated inboxes, will also get a slim lined new picture for each episode. The episode summaries for Survivor: East Timor have now been completed and you can read the season starting from episode one here. The episode pages themselves are slightly further ahead having reached Survivor: Brunei. We are also making an episode guide page which details all the episodes from all the seasons, as a quick-link hub.
- Alliance Pages: The newest addition to the wiki database is the inclusion of alliance pages. These are in the early stages and have only been done up to Survivor: Saint Lucia at the time of writing, but will continue along at a steady pacing. Being a completely new feature it will be one of our more complex additions and will take time to do.
- Castaway Pages: One of our BIG to-dos in terms of the wiki overhaul is the changing of castaway pages to the new style. This is a big project because of the quantity and complexity of having to change each one. All new castaways will be created with the new style already in place and we are changing older castaways in season order (Mongolia is done already). I am also looking to overhaul the cast list page to include more than the standard quantity of information, but that is a bigger objective.
- Trivia Pages: All the trivia pages that were originally conceived have now been made. Some are of more quality that others and do need some extra work, however for the most part it is complete. If you have any more ideas for trivia pages, let me know and we might include it if its relevant enough.
- Twist Pages: All the twist pages have been updated with new infoboxes and now include the new images. One of the few small things that needs updating is the Cursed Necklace ownership history.
Well that is most of the updates detailed. There are one or two other things going on and changes I want to make but these are the key ones. Updates may be slower over the next few days with today's cast reveal for Survivor: Kiribati, meaning we have some new pages to make and update. We'll update again soon with the status of the overhaul.
